Thank you for visiting my WordPress site. This is a continuation of a project that has been ongoing for over 20 years and a continuation of my writing I recently put forward in my book The Vast Wastelands of Unbelief which has since been re-edited and republished as The Wastelands of Unbelief available free online. I critique various forms of anti-religious (mostly anti-Christian in my case) beliefs that manifest themselves in the writings of authors such as Richard Dawkins, Susan Blackmore, Steven Pinker, Geoffrey Berg, Bertrand Russell, and others. These are atheists, but I don’t limit my critiques to just them. Theistic evolutionist Kenneth Miller and liberal David Barash also came under my scrutiny. I began a blog as a continuation of this work and now have decided to put my next essays in the form of a book that you see here. My goal is to add one chapter a year for as long as I decide to pursue this project – a reasonable goal that I could exceed if circumstances favor me.
For those who do not know me, here is my story. I have been a Christian all my life, and because of various personal reasons that fostered doubt about my faith, around 1992 I began serious research in the arena of Christianity, Christian apologetics, evolution, atheism, and numerous political philosophies. I became published in not only the Lutheran Science Institute journal but other publications as well, including my book. At the time I began my trek, I knew next to nothing (perhaps nothing at all) about the topics I have since researched. You could call me an idiot on such matters, and I would not be offended because it would be close to the truth. Since then I have become as wise as any sage and look to continue this rewarding pursuit of truth.
I have found, over the years, more than enough material to comment on and have found most, if not all, ant-Christian arguments are faulty (if not downright stupid). This comes as a result, I believe, from a deeply rooted prejudiced desire among the secular left to get rid of God so as to be comfortable with secular beliefs and attitudes and overcome the guilt for avoiding God.
In the course of my research, I have already put forth my ideas in numerous forms including my personal essays published on my personal web site. For more information about the author, click here https://wordpress.com/page/thesecularleftcritique.wordpress.com/44
That’s a brief synopsis of me. My first victim will be Michael Shermer, a man who devotes time to scrutinizing Christianity, creationism, and intelligent design but doesn’t devote time to scrutinizing himself.
